| Description | This finely painted head surrounded by a golden halo represents the Angel Gabriel. He is depicted at half-length and bent forward. This work may be a fragment or a copy of a larger composition representing the Annunciation. His pose and downward gaze suggest that he is addressing the Virgin, announcing she will bear the son of God (Luke 1. 26-28). |
